GRANT ALERT

MND Research Institute of Australia Grants for Research into Motor Neurone Disease

A record $2.04 million was awarded by MNDRIA to 22 new MND research grants commencing around Australia in 2013.  These grants were for two postdoctoral fellowships, two PhD scholarships, three PhD top-up grants and 15 grants-in-aid.  Many more applications competed for the available funds.  Awards to successful applicants were determined by the MND Research Committee.

MNDRIA research grant schemes are listed on the Australian Competitive Grants Register.  This enables Universities receiving grants from MNDRIA to receive additional funds from the Australian Government’s Research Block Grants which contribute to infrastructure costs associated with the funded research projects.
